The father of the teenage shooter who allegedly opened fire at a Georgia school on Wednesday, killing four people, told police this week that he gave his son the AR-15-style rifle used in the shooting as a Christmas gift last year, a law enforcement official told The Washington Post.
The suspected shooter, Colt Gray, 14, was taken into custody after opening fire inside Apalachee High School on Wednesday morning, killing two students and two teachers.
The AR-15-style rifle allegedly used in the horrific shooting was given to Colt as a gift after authorities visited him and his father in May, when the FBI received a tip about an online school shooting threat.
But after questioning, law enforcement did not see justification for taking further action, the FBI said Wednesday.
