Ocasio-Cortez claims her office was vandalized with ‘blood-spattered signs’ over her comments against pager bomb operation

New York Social Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed her office was vandalised after she questioned US involvement in a pager-bombing campaign against Hezbollah.

Videos posted on social media showed the devastating results of the operation, which involved detonating explosives planted in pagers provided to members of the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah. In a second round, other devices, including walkie-talkies, were targeted.

“They must be so naive not to know that I'm not nice to bullies.”

Ocasio-Cortez called for disclosure of whether the United States provided any support to those planning the operation, arguing that if so, it was unlawful.

On Friday, she said someone vandalized her office in response.

“Yesterday, after I questioned the pager operation, a bloody placard was posted in a congressman's office. This is clearly against US policy.” She insisted.

“They must be naive not to know that I have a soft spot for bullies,” she added.

The congressman added a passage from the Department of Defense code that he believes proves his point that such operations are contrary to U.S. policy.

Commentator David French Claimed He argued that Ocasio-Cortez offered an “incomplete analysis” and attempted to correct her own errors.

“First, according to the following definition, the encrypted pagers sold specifically to Hezbollah are not 'likely to be distributed and attractive to civilians, especially children.' These are: [sic] It is given to the military for military purposes,” he replied.

“Furthermore, as the excerpt from the Department of Defense manual indicates, even if pagers fit the definition of a booby trap, they may still be used so long as their use complies with the general principles of the laws of war (necessity, distinction, proportionality, etc.),” he added, arguing that the operation met each of the three principles.

Ocasio-Cortez is not the only member of “The Squad” to be criticized for her response to the operation targeting terror leaders: Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib of Michigan has been criticized for appearing to side with Hezbollah militants in the ongoing conflict.
