Migrant accused of trying to ‘breach’ Quantico base was busted in Trump’s mass deportation raids, ICE says

President Trump's immigrant raids overthrew illegal Jordanian immigrants who were accused of trying to “violate” Marine Corps base Quantico last year.

Hasan Yousef Hamdan, 32, is currently facing deportation.

Hamdan and Mohammad Karl Dubs, 28, were first captured on May 3, 2024, and were first captured after the pair trespassed into a military base and was quickly placed in ice custody.

But by next month, ICE has let them go after posting bonds in immigration cases. Hamdan's set was set at $15,000 and Dabs was set at $10,000.

But with Trump taking office with a more stringent immigration policy, Ice again arrested Hamdan in Richmond, Virginia on February 7, ensuring he was dealt with for deportation, an agency spokesperson told the Post.

Hamdan and Dabs, who overstayed student visas, were accused of trespassing on military property, appeared on July 22 for a future immigration hearing and were released in the case with an agreement to avoid going to Quanto and other military bases, court documents say. This was first reported by Todd Benzman of the Center for Immigration Research.

Hamdan was first captured after illegally crossing the southern border in San Diego in April 2024, but was soon released to the United States because the federal government does not have detention space to hold him, federal law enforcement told the Post earlier.

According to court documents filed by Hamdan's attorney, officers have since confirmed that Dubs, who was behind the wheel, was on the base with “good reason.”

However, when officers ordered the Dubs to move the vehicle for further inspection, Jordanian immigrants “continued to the base.”

Base spokesman Colonel Michael Curtis previously told the Post that Dabous told the military police officers at the base's entry gate, “They were Amazon working for a subcontractor and delivering it to the US post office in the town of Quantico.”

However, the two migrants “ignored” instructions “ignoring” by failing to provide “approved qualifications,” having to enter the base and “ignoring” instructions by proceeding to military installations to “moving the vehicle to pass through the area that holds the vehicle,” Curtis said.

Dabous's lawyers alleged that he eventually stopped the vehicle and “complied” with the officer's orders.

Security guards quickly deployed a “vehicle denial barrier” before detaining the migrant pair.

Hamdan is scheduled to appear on April 2nd before an immigration judge is scheduled.

The Trump administration is working to step up ice arrests and target “worst, worst, worst.”

In the first 50 days of Trump's presidency, ICE has arrested nearly 33,000 people, including more than 14,000 criminals, Homeland Security officials told reporters over a phone call Wednesday.

And with so many arrests, ICE has already exhausted its detention space and is seeking additional funding and support from other federal and local agencies.
