A woman was fatally attacked by a knife-wielding assailant in Times Square, identified as Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old executive working for Bank of America. She had recently celebrated her wedding anniversary, as reported.
Piacenti, who resided in Chester, New Jersey, was stabbed during the afternoon close to the bustling crossroads before the perpetrator, who also injured an elderly man, was shot by police.
Working as the Vice President of Business Selection and Conflicts at Bank of America, Piacenti had a strong academic background, having graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and from Fordham Law School in 2021, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Notably, she had just marked her second wedding anniversary on August 10, as reflected in her social media updates.
Authorities reported that Piacenti was attacked around 4:30 p.m. near 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue in what police described as an “unprovoked attack.” The assailant, Pamela Cisneros, 49, initiated the violence by stabbing a 68-year-old man after he emerged from the subway at West 41st Street before continuing her assault on Piacenti.
Following the attack on Piacenti, police confronted Cisneros, who was armed with two kitchen knives. She was shot dead when she aggressively approached the officers.
