New memo shows how FBI pressured Nashville Police about trans killer’s manifesto after Christian school mass killing

The FBI has reportedly advised Metro Nashville police not to release the Covenant School killer’s manifesto.

FBI Major Incident Response Group personnel I have written On May 11, 2023 — about six weeks after the school shooting — the group asked Nashville Police Chief John Drake to consider “protecting legacy tokens,” referring to writings and other documents left behind by the killer.

“For all of the above reasons, the release of these legacy tokens would jeopardize the security of schools across the country.”

The FBI “strongly advises against publicly disclosing any legacy tokens,” the memo states. Said.

The memo makes no specific mention of the Covenant School tragedy or transgender perpetrators, but its timing and message are no coincidence.

The FBI gave three reasons to discourage Nashville police from releasing the “legacy tokens.”

First, the FBI alleged that legacy tokens “contribute to future attacks. Second, the FBI said that legacy tokens “do not provide the answers or comfort that the public and surviving victims seek. And third, the FBI alleged that legacy tokens “foster false narratives, inaccurate information, and even ‘conspiracy theories.'”

The memo further reads:

The release of the legacy tokens of any mass shooting, especially a school shooting, would likely generate intense interest and research from potential criminals considering targeting schools for attacks. For all of the reasons above, the release of such legacy tokens would jeopardize the security of schools across the country.

Experts agree that we must do all we can as a society to prevent future mass shootings of any kind, including school shootings, and a clear step we can take is to restrict the availability of legacy tokens to those considering an attack as a means of generating ideas, research, and inspiration.

Tennessee Star First reported the memo.

Metro Nashville Police confirmed Tuesday that the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit is assisting in the Covenant School investigation.

“As has been publicly acknowledged, the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit assisted in the investigation of this homicide,” Minnesota State Police Public Information Officer Don Aaron confirmed to The Tennessee Star. “All materials related to this collaboration are part of the public case file and are all secured. As I stated previously, our Homicide Unit is working to solve this case.”

The murderer’s manifesto has been a contentious and controversial topic in court.

Tennessee Judge A recent discussion I heard Regarding the publication of the manifesto: While the media and some officials believe there is a public interest in it, some parents of the victims are fighting to prevent its release.

There’s no word yet on when or if the memo will be made public.

Last November, a multi-page manifesto was leaked revealing that the transgender assailant wanted to “increase the death toll” by killing “every little white person” at the school.

Nashville police investigated but were unable to identify the source of the leak.
