‘America’s Most Wanted’ host warns border crisis is fueling child sex trafficking: ‘Incredible travesty’

“America’s Most Wanted” host John Walsh recently warned that the border crisis is fueling child sex trafficking. Fox News Digital report.

Speaking at a red carpet event earlier this month, Walsh described how Mexican drug cartels and Central American gangs conspire to make money from trafficking unaccompanied minors. Walsh explained that parents pay criminal organizations to take their children away under the pretense of safely transporting them to the United States where they can find work.

“Who took those children? We know who took them. It’s the sex traffickers.”

“We need people to fight what’s going on with the wall,” Walsh told Fox News Digital. “What’s going on at the border is an incredible travesty.”

“The cartel [children] “They bring the kids to the border. They push the kids through. The parents pay the kids because they think they’re sending them to work in the U.S., but that’s not the case,” Walsh explained. “Once they get the kids to the border, the cartels take control, then the gangs take control. MS-13, a violent gang from Venezuela. And then the girls and boys get trafficked. They move every few days.”

“Central American gangs are terrible,” Walsh continued. “Finally, the Department of Homeland Security is [Alejandro] “Mayorkas admitted to pushing 78,000 unaccompanied minors into the U.S. since November. Where are these kids going? Who’s taking them? We know who’s taking them: sex traffickers. So our work is going to be significantly cut short.”

According to Customs and Border Protection dataBorder Patrol agents on the southern border processed more than 82,000 unaccompanied minors from October 2023 to May 2024.

“America is the greatest country in the world, but we have a high crime rate,” Walsh’s son and co-host Callahan told Fox News Digital.

“America’s Most Wanted gives communities and individuals a way to catch bad guys without having to call the police,” he said. “Not everyone wants to call the police. Not everyone wants to give their name and have their name dragged to court.”

The television series led to 1,200 arrests and the rescue of 61 children. In addition to hosting the popular anti-crime show, Walsh co-founded the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children with his wife, Reve, after their son Adam was kidnapped and murdered.

“I’ve always believed that if you show people how to help, they will help you,” Walsh told Fox News Digital. “I’ve caught criminals in 45 countries. I just say one thing: ‘Don’t tell me a name. Tell me where the bad guy is. Nobody’s gonna take you to court. Nobody’s gonna come after me with a vengeance. I’m not gonna have a vengeance. Just tell me and I’ll get you, whoever you are.’ And that’s how we’ve caught a lot of criminals. A lot of criminals. Because the public trusts me. The public all over the world. And we catch the bad guys and we find the missing kids.”
