Incident at New Jersey Boardwalk Involving Canadian Woman
A woman from Canada now residing in New Jersey faces accusations of assaulting a teenager on a boardwalk. The teenager was reportedly wearing pants that displayed “Trump” and “ICE.”
Caitlin E. Tracy, 33, allegedly “slapped the victim in the face and body,” as detailed in a report from NJ.com. The confrontation occurred when Tracy approached a group of teens while using her cellphone to record them on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk.
Police noted that Tracy took issue with the teenager’s “patriotic colored sweatpants with political text.” The incident took place on the night of July 3, marking the beginning of the Fourth of July weekend. Surveillance footage supposedly captured Tracy striking the young girl—once in the body and once in the face—with an open hand.
After the incident, Tracy left the scene. A few days later, she was arrested as part of the investigation into the altercation.
Authorities have charged Tracy with endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment, and obstruction. Reports indicate she is a Canadian citizen who entered the U.S. with a passport in 2024.
On social media, a man claiming to be Tracy’s husband shared an emotional video regarding the situation. He mentioned that Tracy was taken into custody by ICE and transported to Delaney Hall in northern New Jersey.
An ICE detainer search has confirmed that she is indeed in custody at that facility.
As of now, Tracy’s attorney has chosen not to comment on the matter when approached for insight.
